Bridge School Concerts To Screen In Select Cities For One Night Only On Oct 24th

On October 24th, Reprise Records will release The Bridge School Benefit Concerts 25th Anniversary Edition - a three-DVD set and a two-CD collection that feature unique live performances from many of the phenomenal artists who’ve performed over the past 25 years at the beloved Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts organized by Neil Young and his wife Pegi Young. To celebrate their release, the concert film from the DVDs will screen in theaters in select cities for one night only on the same day, October 24th.

The film features some of the biggest names in music, including Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, The Who, Tom Petty, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young and Crazy Horse performing rare, acoustic versions of songs never heard anywhere else. The DVD, CD, and concerts benefit The Bridge School, a non-profit, innovative organization educating children with severe speech and physical impairments through the use of augmentative and alternative communication systems and assistive technology.

The DVD and CD packages will be released just after this year’s Bridge School Benefit Concerts, which will held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, on October 22nd and 23rd. The Bridge School Benefit directs all proceeds to The Bridge School. The first concert was held in October 1986, and, with the exception of 1987, the concert has been held every year since. As a practice, the performers use acoustic instruments. Young also personally performs every year.
